- On the skipping or muting CD, inspect for the following conditons:
- Clean the CD player, if necessary.
- The condition may be normal if caused by rough roads.
- Attempt to duplicate on a good road surface.
- Perform the test using a known good disc.
- Some discs may contain marks that make 1 track or the entire disc
unplayable.

| The CD player displays ERR or the disc ejects.
- The ERR displays when the following conditions occur:
• | You insert the disc upside-down. |
• | The disc has scratches. |
- Moisture condenses on the disc when you do the following:
• | You insert a cold disc into a hot CD player. |
• | You insert a hot disc into a cold CD player. |
- Allow up to an hour in order to evaporate the condensation.
- Insert a known good disc into the CD player in order to perform
the inspection.
- Explain to the customer that very high internal instrument panel
temperatures may cause the CD to eject.
