Did you perform the Radio/Audio System Check?

  1. Disconnect the radio connector.
  2. Turn the headlamp switch to the PARK position.
  3. Turn the illumination controller to LO (low intensity).
  4. Connect a J 39200 from the radio connector cavity 3 to ground.
  5. Measure the resistance.

Is the resistance above the specified value?

1 ohms

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

Repair the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the radio connector.
  2. Turn the headlamp switch to the PARK position.
  3. Turn the illumination controller to LO (low intensity).
  4. Connect a J 39200 from the radio connector cavity 3 to ground.
  5. Measure the resistance.

Is the resistance below the specified value?

0.5 ohms

Go to Step 5

Go to Radio/Audio System Check

Repair the short to ground in the RED/GRN wire between the radio and illumination controller. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
