Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  3. On the coupe only, remove the inner energy absorber pad. Refer to Front Side Door Inner Panel Lower Energy Absorber Replacement .
  4. On the coupe only, remove the outer energy absorber pad. Refer to Outer Front Energy Absorber Pad Replacement .
  5. Remove the door speaker. Refer to Radio Front Side Door Speaker Replacement
  6. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  7. Remove the front door inner sealing strip. Refer to Rear Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement .
  8. Remove the front door outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement .
  9. Remove the window. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement .
  10. Remove the window weatherstrip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement .
  11. Remove the window regulator. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement .
  12. Remove the outside door handle. Refer to Front Side Door Outside Handle Replacement .
  13. Remove the inside handle. Refer to Front Side Door Inside Handle Replacement .
  14. Remove the lock. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Replacement .
  15. Remove the front door bottom sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Bottom Auxiliary Sealing Strip Replacement .
  16. Remove the door side molding. Refer to Body Side Moldings in Exterior Trim.
  17. Remove the door finish panel. Refer to Door Lower Finish Panel Replacement in Exterior Trim.
  18. Remove the conduit. Refer to Front Side Door Conduit Replacement .
  19. Support the door.
  20. Remove the intermediate door hinge bolts.
  21. Remove the door.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the intermediate door hinge bolts.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 33 N·m (24 lb ft).

  3. Remove the support.
  4. Install the conduit. Refer to Front Side Door Conduit Replacement .
  5. Install the front door bottom sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Bottom Auxiliary Sealing Strip Replacement .
  6. Install the lock. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Replacement .
  7. Install the inside handle. Refer to Front Side Door Inside Handle Replacement .
  8. Install the outside door handle. Refer to Front Side Door Outside Handle Replacement .
  9. Install the window regulator. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement .
  10. Install the window weatherstrip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement .
  11. Install the window. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement .
  12. Install the front door outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement .
  13. Install the front door inner sealing strip. Refer to Rear Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement .
  14. Connect the electrical connectors.
  15. Install the door speaker. Refer to Radio Front Side Door Speaker Replacement
  16. On the coupe only, install the outer energy absorber pad. Refer to Outer Front Energy Absorber Pad Replacement .
  17. On the coupe only, install the inner energy absorber pad. Refer to Front Side Door Inner Panel Lower Energy Absorber Replacement .
  18. Install the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  19. Install the trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  20. Adjust the door. Refer to Front Side Door Adjustment .
  21. After the door is in its adjusted position, install the door finish panel. Refer to Door Lower Finish Panel Replacement in Exterior Trim.
  22. Install the door side moldings. Refer to Body Side Moldings in Exterior Trim.
