Removal Procedure

    Caution: This vehicle has energy-absorbing foam blocks for side impact protection. To help avoid personal injury in a collision, foam blocks that are damaged, or removed during repairs must be replaced. Failure to replace foam blocks that are removed can violate federal law.

  1. Open the door.
  2. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 468308  Size: SH
  5. Remove clip holding energy absorber in position.
  6. Grasp the energy absorber with your hands and pull it away from the door.
  7. Discard the old energy absorber.

Installation Procedure

  1. Clean the door of any remaining adhesive. Use isopropyl alcohol.
  2. Remove the protective tape from the adhesive strip on the back side of the new absorber pad.

  3. Object Number: 468308  Size: SH
  4. Install the new energy absorber pad to the door.
  5. Press firmly on the energy absorber pad to secure.
  6. Install the clip holding energy absorber in position.
  7. Install the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  8. Install the rear door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  9. Close the door.
