Power Steering Pump Replacement V6
Removal Procedure
- Remove the front air deflector. Refer to
Front Air Deflector Replacement.
- Place drain pans under the vehicle as needed.
- Remove as much power steering fluid from the remote power steering fluid reservoir as possible.
- Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to
Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement.
- Disconnect the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose from the power steering pump.
- Disconnect the power steering gear inlet hose fitting from the power steering pump.
- Remove the power steering pump bracket bolts.
- Remove the power steering pump and bracket from the vehicle.
- If necessary, transfer the power steering pump bracket. Refer to
Power Steering Pump Bracket Replacement.
Installation Procedure
- Position the power steering pump and bracket to the vehicle.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
Note: Start all fasteners by hand before finalizing any torques.
Note: Torque the power steering pump bolts in the order indicated in the graphic.
- Install the power steering pump bracket bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
- Connect the power steering gear inlet hose fitting to the power steering pump.
Tighten
Tighten the fitting to 38 N·m (28 lb ft).
- Connect the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose to the power steering pump.
- Clean any excess fluid from the vehicle and remove the drain pans.
- Install the power steering pump pulley. Refer to
Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement.
- Install the front air deflector. Refer to
Front Air Deflector Replacement.
- Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to
Power Steering System Bleeding.

Preliminary Procedure

Procedure
- Loosen the hose clamp and transfer the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose to the new pump.
- Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to
Power Steering System Bleeding.
