Verify that the Lumbar Massage Always On complaint is present.

Does the lumbar massage operate as described in the system description and operation?

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Probe the lumbar down switch signal circuit Pin-H of the lumbar massage module with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.
  3. Press the lumbar DOWN switch.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Probe the lumbar up signal circuit Pin-S of the massage module with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Probe the lumbar down signal circuit Pin-R of the massage module with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Measure the voltage from the lumbar vertical position sensor signal circuit of the massage module to a good ground.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

0.25-4.75 V

Test the lumbar down switch signal circuit between the massage module and the lumbar switch for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
