Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the inner belt sealing strip. Refer to Inner Belt Sealing Strip Replacement .
  3. Remove the outer mirror assembly. Refer to Outside Rearview Mirror Motor Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 604110  Size: SH
  5. It may be necessary to remove the door glass to access the outer belt sealing strip fasteners (1). Refer to Door Window Replacement
  6. Remove the five fasteners (1).

  7. Slide the sealing strip rearward in order to disengage the "T" slots (3,4) at each end of the door belt.
  8. Remove the outer sealing strip (2).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the outer sealing strip (2) to the door.
  2. Important: The outer belt sealing strip "T" slots (3,4) must be fully engaged to each end of the door belt to obtain the maximum retention to the door.

  3. Ensure the outer belt sealing strip "T" slots are engaged.
  4. Push the sealing strip forward prior to installing the five fasteners (1).
  5. Important: Ensure the front and rear clips on the sealing strip are fully engaged.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the fasteners (1).
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 1.5 N·m (14 lb in).

  8. Reinstall the door glass if necessary. Refer to Door Window Replacement .
  9. Install the outer mirror assembly. Refer to Outside Rearview Mirror Motor Replacement .
  10. Install the inner belt sealing strip. Refer to Inner Belt Sealing Strip Replacement .
  11. Install the trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement .
