J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
2. Remove the front seats. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket in Seats.
3. Remove the center console. Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
4. Remove the foot rest. Refer to Foot Rest Replacement .
5. Remove the front carpet retainers. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement .



6. Using J 38778 remove the 4 retainers from the front and rear carpet overlap seam.



7. Separate the floor vents from the floor ducts before removing the front carpet.

Caution: In order to avoid personal injury or vehicle damage when you repair or replace the carpet, use the same thickness and material size as the original installation. Always return the carpet to the original location.

1. Lay the front carpet into the vehicle.
2. Work the front edges of the carpet into place under the instrument panel.
3. Install the floor vent into the floor ducts.



4. Install the 4 retainers into the floor pan at the front and rear carpet overlap seam.
5. Install the center console. Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
6. Install the foot rest. Refer to Foot Rest Replacement .
7. Install the front carpet retainers. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement .
8. Install the front seats. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket in Seats.
9. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
