Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1294372 Size: SH
  1. Place the folding top in the up position.
  2. Place a protective covering over the interior and the adjacent body panels.
  3. Remove the rear window panel. Refer to Rear Window Panel Trim Replacement.
  4. Using an open-end wrench, remove both of the drive rods from the center compartment closeout panel.
  5. Remove both of the outer compartment closeout panels. Refer to Folding Top Stowage Compartment Front Outer Closeout Panel Replacement.
  6. Remove the position switch. Refer to Folding Top Stowage Compartment Front Closeout Panel Position Switch Replacement.

  7. Remove the spring clip (1) from the hydraulic cylinder retainer pin.

    8. Object Number: 1247442 Size: SH
  8. Remove the retainer pin (1).

    9. Object Number: 1247443 Size: SH
  9. Remove the spring clip (1) from the hydraulic cylinder.

    10. Object Number: 1247444 Size: SH
  10. Remove the hydraulic cylinder (2) from the link (1).

    11. Object Number: 1237544 Size: SH
  11. Using a grease pencil, mark the location of the bolts (1) to the support bracket.
  12. Remove the outboard link bolts (1).

  13. Loosen the center link nuts (1).
  14. Remove the link (2) from the vehicle.
  15. Note the number and the location of any shims.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1237544 Size: SH
  1. Position the link to the vehicle. Hand start the bolts. Do NOT tighten.
  2. Apply LOCTITE™ Blue, GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) or equivalent to the bolts.

    3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Align the bolts to the marks on the support bracket and tighten to 11 N·m (97 lb in).
  4. Install the shims in the same locations.

  5. Pull the link (2) forward until the slots are seated against the studs. Install the center link nuts (1) and tighten to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

    6. Object Number: 1247444 Size: SH
  6. Position the hydraulic cylinder (2) to the folding top support bracket (1).

    7. Object Number: 1247443 Size: SH
  7. Install the spring clip (1) to the hydraulic cylinder.

    8. Object Number: 1247442 Size: SH
  8. Install the retainer pin (1) to the hydraulic cylinder.

    9. Object Number: 1247441 Size: SH
  9. Install the spring clip (2) to the retainer pin (1).
  10. Install the position switch. Refer to Folding Top Stowage Compartment Front Closeout Panel Position Switch Replacement.
  11. Install both of the drive rods to the center compartment closeout panel.
  12. Install the outer compartment closeout panels. Refer to Folding Top Stowage Compartment Front Outer Closeout Panel Replacement.
  13. Verify that the compartment closeout panels are properly aligned. Refer to Folding Top Clearance Gap Specifications.
  14. Adjust the center compartment closeout panel, if necessary. Refer to Folding Top Storage Compartment Closeout Panel Adjustment - Front.
  15. Adjust the outer compartment closeout panel, if necessary. Refer to Folding Top Stowage Compartment Front Outer Closeout Panel Adjustment.
  16. Remove the protective covering.
  17. Cycle the folding top under power through one complete cycle in both directions.
  18. Inspect the folding top for proper operation. Refer to Power Folding Top Description and Operation.
  19. Install the rear window panel. Refer to Rear Window Panel Trim Replacement.
