Cause

Action

The following items are broken, missing or out of position:

    • The detent
    • The return
    • The canceling spring

Replace the multifunction turn signal/hazard switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle .

The switch mounting screws are loose.

Tighten the screws to the specified torque. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle .

The multifunction turn signal/hazard switch is broken.

Replace the multifunction turn signal/hazard switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle .

The canceling cam to the canceling spring interference is uneven.
  1. Inspect the canceling cam and the switch.
  2. Replace the damaged parts. Refer to Steering Column Tilt Head Housing - Disassemble - Off Vehicle and Steering Column Tilt Head Housing - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
