  1. Connect a scan tool to the ALDL connector.
  2. Select Instrument Panel Cluster and read current DTCs.

No current DTCs

  1. Release the park brake.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  3. Drivers seat belt unbuckled.
  4. Observe the IPC for the following power-up indicators:
    • Odometer display will perform a 2 second segment function test.
    • ABS -illuminated for 3 seconds.
    • Brake-illuminated for 3 seconds.
    •  Seat Belt indicator-ON for 20 seconds then FLASHES for 55 seconds.
    •  Service Engine Soon (SES)-Illuminates continuously.
    •  Wait to Start- Illuminates 2-17 seconds depending on engine temp (diesel only).
    •  Air Bag -Flashes 7 times.
    • Battery message is displayed in the message center.

  1. Start the engine and let idle.
  2. Turn the cargo lights off.
  3. Washer fluid, fuel tank, and cooling system full.

Message center does not display any messages.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Buckle the drivers safety belt.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.

Fasten safety belt indicator remains OFF.

  1. Operate the LH turn signal
  2. Operate the RH turn signal

Turn signal indicators flash with turn signals.

Apply the park brake.

Park brake indicator flashes.

With the brake pedal firmly applied, move the shift lever through each of the shift positions.

All indicators illuminate and corresponds to the each shift lever positions.

  1. Turn the headlamps ON.
  2. Adjust the instrument panel dimmer switch to MAXIMUM bright and MAXIMUM dim.
    • Instrument panel lamps illumination varies.
    • NOTE: with the dimmer switch at the minimum setting, the PRNDL will go full bright.

  1. Headlamps ON.
  2. Turn ON the high beams.

High Beam indicator illuminates.

  1. Turn the cruise control button ON.
  2. Depress the cruise control SET button.

Cruise indicator illuminates.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Press and release the trip reset button.

The Odometer switches between the season and the trip odometer.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Depress the trip reset button for four seconds.

The hourmeter will display the number of hours on the vehicle for 30 seconds.

Start the engine and idle to operating temperature.

    • Tachometer displays idle RPM.
    • Fuel gauge displays accurate fuel level.
    • Oil pressure gauge displays normal oil pressure.
    • Volt gauge displays battery voltage.
    • Temp gauge displays engine operating temperature.
    • Trans Temp gauge displays transmission operating temperature.

Drive the vehicle at 48.3 km/h (30 MPH).

Speedometer and Odometer operate properly.
