Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  2. Remove the LH I/P lower trim panel. Refer to Section 8C.

  3. Object Number: 14282  Size: SH
  4. Remove the pushrod retaining clip.
  5. Remove the pushrod at the clutch pedal.

  6. Object Number: 14285  Size: SH
  7. Remove the hydraulic hose fitting at the clutch master cylinder.
  8. Remove the clutch master cylinder retaining bolts.
  9. Remove the clutch master cylinder.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 14285  Size: SH
  1. Install the clutch master cylinder and retaining bolts.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 17 N·m (12 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the hydraulic hose fitting.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the hose fitting to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).

  5. Install the pushrod at the clutch pedal.
  6. Install the pushrod retaining clip.
  7. Install the LH I/P lower trim Panel. Refer to Section 8C.
  8. Bleed air from the hydraulic system. Refer to Hydraulic Clutch Bleeding .
  9. Install the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement in Engine Electrical.
