Park Brake Cables Front
Removal Procedure
- Remove the parking brake lever. Refer
to
Parking Brake Lever Replacement
.
- Raise the vehicle.
- Remove the RH muffler. Refer to
Muffler
in Engine Exhaust.
- Disconnect the rear parking brake cables from the equalizer.
- Disconnect the front parking brake cable from the cable retainer.
- Remove the front parking brake cable bracket
from the tunnel.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the front cable from the vehicle
- Remove the pass-through grommet and front bracket from the cable.
Installation Procedure
- Install the front bracket and pass-through grommet to the cable.
- Install the front parking brake cable to the vehicle. Insure the
pass-through grommet is properly installed.
- Raise the vehicle.
- Install the front parking brake cable bracket to the tunnel.
- Connect the front parking brake cable
to the parking brake cable retainer.
- Connect the rear parking brake cables to the equalizer.
- Install the RH muffler. Refer to
Muffler
in Engine Exhaust.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the parking brake lever. Refer to
Parking Brake Lever Replacement
.
Park Brake Cables Rear
Removal Procedure
- Disable the parking brake automatic adjuster.
Refer to
Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling
.
- Raise the vehicle.
- Remove the RH muffler. Refer to
Muffler
in Engine Exhaust.
- Disconnect the rear parking brake cable at the retainer and equalizer.
- Remove the rear parking brake cable from
the rear suspension mounting bracket.
- Remove the rear parking brake cable retainer nut.
- Remove the rear parking brake cable from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the rear parking brake cable to the vehicle.
- Install the rear parking brake cable retainer nut.
- Connect the rear parking brake cable to
the rear suspension mounting bracket.
- Connect the rear parking brake cable
to the retainer and equalizer.
- Install the RH muffler. Refer to
Muffler
in Engine Exhaust.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Enable parking brake automatic adjuster. Refer to
Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Enabling
.
