Removal Procedure
Tools Required

Ball Joint Separator
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Wheel Removal
in Tires and Wheels.
Disconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector.
Remove the brake caliper and disc/drum. Refer to
Brake Caliper Replacement
and
Rotor
in Disc Brakes.
Separate the outer tie rod end from the suspension knuckle. Refer to
Rear Axle Tie Rod
.
Remove the spindle nut retainer, nut and washer. Refer to
Drive Axle Replacement
in Drive Axle.
Separate the suspension knuckle from the upper control arm (1). Refer to
Upper Control Arm (RWD)
.
Separate the suspension knuckle (2) from the lower control arm ball joint stud (4). Refer to
Lower Control Arm (RWD)
.
Installation Procedure
Install the suspension knuckle (2) onto the lower control arm (4) ball joint stud. Refer to
Lower Control Arm (RWD)
.
Install the suspension knuckle (2) onto the upper control arm (1) ball joint stud. Refer to
Upper Control Arm (RWD)
.
Install the spindle nut, washer and retainer. Refer to
Drive Axle Replacement
in Drive Axle.
Install the outer tie rod end onto the suspension knuckle. Refer to
Rear Axle Tie Rod
.
Install the brake disc/drum and caliper. Refer to
Rotor
and
Brake Caliper Replacement
in Disc Brakes..
Connect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector.
Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Wheel Removal
in Tires and Wheels.
Lower the vehicle.
