Using the door lock switches located on the vehicle or a scan tool, manually operate the driver/passenger door locks.

Do the door locks operate properly?

Go to Power Door Lock Diagnosis

1. Turn OFF the ignition switch.
2. Place the transmission in PARK (A/T), or apply the parking brake (M/T).
3. Press the vehicle hatch release switch located on the vehicle.

Does the hatch release?

--

Go to Step 4

Go to Hatch Does Not Release

1. Turn OFF the ignition switch.
2. Close the driver/passenger doors.
3. Place the transmitter in range.
4. Turn OFF the transmitter passive switch.
5. Press the transmitter LOCK button.

Do the driver/passenger doors lock?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 9

1. Place the transmitter in range.
2. Press the transmitter UNLOCK button. (The first press unlocks the driver door; the second press unlocks the passenger door.)

Do the driver/passenger doors unlock?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 15

1. Remove the ignition key.
2. Turn ON the transmitter passive switch.
3. Remove all transmitters from range.

Do the driver/passenger doors lock when the transmitter is not in range?

1. Turn ON the transmitter passive switch.
2. Shake the transmitter that is within range.

Does the appropriate door unlock (driver or driver and passenger) when the proper button is pressed?

1. Turn OFF the ignition switch.
2. Place the transmission in PARK (A/T), or apply the parking brake (M/T).
3. Press the transmitter hatch release button.

Does the hatch release?

System OK

Go to Step 15

1. Synchronize the transmitter(s). Refer to Transmitter Programming/Synchronization .
2. Close the driver/passenger doors.
3. Press the transmitter LOCK button.

Do the driver/passenger doors lock?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 10

1. Program the transmitters. Refer to Transmitter Programming/Synchronization .
2. Close the driver/passenger doors.
3. Press the transmitter LOCK button.

Do the driver/passenger doors lock?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 11

1. Using a known good transmitter, program the transmitter. Refer to Transmitter Programming/Synchronization .
2. Close the driver/passenger doors.
3. Press the transmitter LOCK button.

Do the driver/passenger doors lock?

Check the transmitter battery for the following conditions:

Replace the transmitter battery. Refer to Transmitter Battery Replacement .

Is the replacement complete?

1. Replace the remote control door lock receiver. Refer to Receiver Replacement .
2. Program the transmitters. Refer to Transmitter Programming/Synchronization .
3. Program the TPM sensors. Refer to Tire Pressure Indicator Sensor Programming in Tire Pressure Monitor.

Is the replacement complete?

1. Replace the transmitter.
2. Program the transmitters. Refer to Transmitter Programming/Synchronization .

1. Turn OFF the ignition switch.
2. Install or connect any components or connectors that were removed or disconnected.
3. Turn ON the ignition switch.
4. Clear all DTCs. Refer to Clearing DTCs .

Are all DTCs cleared?
