Removal Procedure
- Remove the roof panel. Refer to Roof Lift Off Panel Replacement .
- Remove the sunshade. Refer to Sunshade Replacement in Exterior/Interior Trim.
- Remove the side and upper garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Upper Garnish Molding Replacement in Exterior/Interior Trim.
- Mark the location of the striker to aid in installation.
- Remove the bolts attaching the striker.
- Remove the striker.
Installation Procedure
- Align the striker with the marks made before removal.
- Install the striker attaching bolts.
- Install the upper and side garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Upper Garnish Molding Replacement in Exterior/Interior Trim.
- Install the sunshade. Refer to Sunshade Replacement in Exterior/Interior Trim.
- Install the roof panel. Refer to Roof Lift Off Panel Replacement .
- Adjust if necessary. Refer to Roof Lift Off Panel Adjustment .
Tighten
Tighten the roof front latch handle striker bolts to 10 N·m
(89 lb in). Refer to
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
