  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Disconnect the seat belt/ ignition key/ lamps alarm connector.
  3. Ensure the drivers seat belt buckle is unfastened (released).
  4. Using a test lamp, probe between B+ and the seat belt/ ignition key/ lamps alarm harness connector terminal A2.

Does the test light illuminate?

  1. Disconnect the driver seat belt switch electrical connector.
  2. Using a DMM, measure the resistance between the driver seat belt switch harness connector terminal A and the ground.

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

2 ohms

Go to Step 3

Using a DMM, measure the resistance between the seat belt/ ignition key/ lamps alarm harness connector terminal A2 and the driver seat belt switch harness connector terminal B.

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

2 ohms

Go to Step 4

Using a DMM, measure the resistance between the driver seat belt switch connector terminals A and B (switch side).

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

2 ohms

Go to Step 5

Replace the seat belt/ ignition key/ lamps alarm.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the driver seat belt switch.

Refer to Seat Belt Buckle Replacement - Left Front in Seat Belts.

Repair a poor connection or open in CKT 250.

Repair a poor connection or open in CKT 238.

  1. Ensure the ignition is in the LOCK position.
  2. Reconnect the connectors and reinstall the components that were removed.
