Removal Procedures
  1. Remove the rear window trim panel. Refer to Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the rear compartment lid. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Replacement .
  3. Remove the rear compartment lid torque rod from the bracket. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Hinge Torque Rod Replacement .
  4. Remove the rear compartment lid hinge pin.
  5. Using a die grinder, grind away the outboard (peened) side of the pin.
  6. Using a flat-bladed tool, pry the pin out of the rear compartment lid hinge bracket.
  7. Use matching touch-up paint on areas exposed to the die grinder.

  8. Remove the rear compartment lid hinge (2).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 291979 Size: SH
  1. Install the rear compartment lid hinge (2) using the Rear Compartment Lid Hinge Assembly kit.
  2. Install the rear compartment lid torque rod from the bracket. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Hinge Torque Rod Replacement .
  3. Install the rear compartment lid. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Replacement .
  4. Install the rear window trim panel. Refer to Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement .
