Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .
  2. Remove the filter. Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid Filter and Seal Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 97335  Size: SH
  4. Remove the accumulator cover attaching bolts/screws.

  5. Object Number: 97365  Size: SH
  6. Remove the accumulator cover.
  7. Remove the accumulator piston.

  8. Object Number: 97366  Size: SH
  9. Remove the oil seal ring.
  10. Remove the spring.
  11. In order to disassemble and inspect the accumulator and 2-1 manual servo, refer to Accumulator Assembly, 2-1 Band Servo Disassemble .

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the accumulator new oil seal ring.
  2. Install the accumulator spring.

  3. Object Number: 97366  Size: SH
  4. Install the accumulator piston.
  5. Install the accumulator cover.

  6. Object Number: 97335  Size: SH
  7. Install the accumulator attaching bolts/screws.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts/screws to 11  N·m (97 lb in).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  9. Install the oil filter. Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid Filter and Seal Replacement .
  10. Install the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .
  11. Adjust the fluid level.

Inspection

    8.1. Inspect the proper completion of repairs.
    8.2. Inspect the proper fluid level. Refer to Transmission Fluid Check .
    8.3. Inspect the fluid leaks. Refer to Fluid Leak Diagnosis and Repair .
