Was the Power Seats System Check performed?

  1. Ensure that a proper connection of the power seat switch exists.
  2. Use a test lamp in order to backprobe the power seat switch between terminal B and terminal C.
  3. Move the power seat switch to the REAR UP and the REAR DOWN positions.

Does the test lamp light with the switch in both positions?

  1. Use a test lamp in order to backprobe the rear height motor connector between terminal A and ground.
  2. Move the power seat switch to the REAR DOWN position.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 5

Replace the power seat switch. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

  1. Use a test lamp in order to backprobe the rear height motor connector between terminal B and ground.
  2. Move the power seat switch to the REAR UP position.

Does the test lamp light?

Repair the open in CKT 283 between the power seat switch and the rear height motor. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the rear height motor. Refer to Seat Adjuster Front Vertical Actuator and Rear Vertical Actuator Replacement .

Repair the open in CKT 282 between the power seat switch and the rear height motor. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
