Did you review the Lighting System Description and Operation and perform the necessary inspections?

Verify that the park lamps are always on.

Does the system operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Is vehicle equipped with Remote Keyless Entry?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 7

Disconnect the remote control door lock receiver connector.

Do the lamps stop illuminating?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 5

Test the LT GRN/BLK wire between junction block 2, the remote control door lock receiver, and the daytime running lamps (DRL) control module for a short to ground.

Is the wire shorted to ground?

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 7

Replace the remote control door lock receiver. Refer to Remote Control Door Lock Receiver Replacement in Keyless Entry.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 12

Test the LT GRN/BLK wire between the daytime running lamps (DRL) control module and the turn signal/headlamp switch for a short to ground.

Is the wire shorted to ground?

Go to Step 8

Repair the wire. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 12

Disconnect the turn signal/headlamp switch connector.

Do the lamps stop illuminating?

Go to Step 10

Replace the turn signal/headlamp switch. Refer to Headlamp Switch Replacement .

Is the replacement complete?

Replace the daytime running lamps control module. Refer to Daytime Running Lights (DRL) Control Module Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
