Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1225278 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the license plate lamp screws (1).
  3. Draw out the license plate lamp (2).
  4. Remove the license plate lamp bulb (3).
  5. Remove the license plate lamp from the tail gate handle.

  6. Remove the rear window wiper motor assembly. Refer to Rear Window Wiper Motor Replacement in Wipers/Washer Systems.
  7. Disconnect the electrical connector in the tail gate.
  8. Remove the tail gate handle. Refer to Liftgate Outside Handle Replacement in Body Rear End.
  9. Remove the license plate lamp socket (1).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1225281 Size: SH
  1. Install the license plate lamp socket.
  2. Install the tail gate handle. Refer to Liftgate Outside Handle Replacement in Body Rear End.
  3. Connect the electrical connector.
  4. Remove the rear window wiper motor assembly. Refer to Rear Window Wiper Motor Replacement in Wipers/Washer Systems.
  5. Install the license plate lamp bulb.
  6. Install the license plate lamp with the screws.
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
