Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the instrument panel side moldings.
  3. Remove the screw.
  4. Remove the instrument panel lower cover.
  5. Remove the glove box/housing. Refer to Instrument Panel Storage Compartment Replacement .

  6. Remove the screws.
  7. Remove the instrument panel center lower cover.
  8. Remove the glove box housing bracket. Refer to Instrument Panel Storage Compartment Replacement .

    9. Object Number: 1280905 Size: SH
  9. Remove the screws.
  10. Remove the glove box striker.
  11. Remove the passenger air bag module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Instrument Panel Module Replacement.

    12. Object Number: 1280893 Size: SH
  12. Remove the instrument cluster trim panel. Refer to Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement .
  13. Remove the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .

    14. Object Number: 1280906 Size: SH
  14. Remove the steering wheel and the steering wheel column cover.
  15. Remove the A-Pillar trim panel.
  16. Remove the screws.

  17. Remove the nuts.
  18. Remove the screws.

    19. Object Number: 1280909 Size: SH
  19. Remove the nuts.
  20. Remove the screws.
  21. Remove the instrument panel.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1280909 Size: SH
  1. Install the instrument panel.
  2. Install the screws.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the nuts.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  4. Install the screws.
  5. Install the nuts.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).


    Object Number: 1280906 Size: SH
  6. Install the screws.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  7. Install the A-pillar trim panel.
  8. Install the steering wheel.
  9. Install the steering wheel column cover.

    10. Object Number: 1280893 Size: SH
  10. Install the instrument cluster.
  11. Install the instrument cluster trim panel.

    12. Object Number: 1280905 Size: SH
  12. Install the passenger air bag module.
  13. Install the glove box striker.
  14. Install the screws.

    15. Object Number: 1280903 Size: SH
  15. Install the glove box housing bracket.
  16. Install the instrument panel cluster lower cover.
  17. Install the screws.

    18. Object Number: 1280902 Size: SH
  18. Install the glove box/housing.
  19. Install the instrument panel lower cover.
  20. Install the screws.
  21. Install the instrument panel side moldings.
  22. Install the negative battery cable.
