Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the midgate inner panel. Refer to Midgate Inner Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the midgate window. Refer to Midgate Window Replacement .
  3. Remove the midgate regulator assembly. Refer to Midgate Window Regulator Replacement .

    4. Object Number: 1033740 Size: SH
  4. Mark the position of the midgate hinges (2) using a grease pencil.
  5. Mark the position of the midgate hinge reinforcement (1) using a grease pencil.
  6. Remove the nuts retaining the midgate hinge reinforcement to the midgate.
  7. Remove the hinge reinforcement (1) from the midgate.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1033740 Size: SH
  1. Install the midgate hinge reinforcement (1) to the midgate.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the nuts retaining the hinge reinforcement to the midgate.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the midgate hinge reinforcement nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

    Position the hinges (2) and reinforcements (1) in the position marked during removal.

  3. Install the midgate regulator assembly. Refer to Midgate Wedge Replacement .
  4. Install the midgate window. Refer to Midgate Window Replacement .
  5. Raise the midgate window, ensuring the midgate window is properly aligned in the seal channel. If necessary, loosen the midgate hinge nuts and adjust the hinge reinforcements.
  6. Inspect for proper fit of the midgate to the midgate weatherstrip. If necessary, loosen the midgate hinge nuts and adjust the midgate for proper fit to the weatherstrip.
  7. Install the midgate inner panel. Refer to Midgate Inner Panel Replacement .
