High internal leakage in the steering gear or in the pump | Refer to Power Steering System Test |
Sticky flow control valve | Replace or clean the flow control valve. |
The lower coupling flange is rubbing against the steering gear adjuster plug. | Loosen the pinch bolt. Reassemble the components. |
The steering gear is adjusted too tightly. | Adjust the over-center and the thrust bearing preload to specifications. |
