Important: Perform steps 1-5 within 10 minutes after cycling the ignition and without opening the doors.

This is necessary because of the retained accessory power (RAP) time-out.

  1. Place the left and right door lock switches in the LOCK position.
  2. Close the doors.
  3. Place the vehicle in the park position.
  4. Cycle the ignition switch to the RUN position, then back to OFF.

The doors lock.

Place the left and/or right door lock switch in the UNLOCK position.

The doors unlock.

  1. Open the door.
  2. Place the left or right door lock switch into the LOCK position.
  3. Perform this step within 35 seconds of opening the door, because of the RAP.

The doors lock.

  1. Exit the vehicle.
  2. Close the door and the hatch.
  3. Press the door UNLOCK button on the remote control door lock transmitter.
    • The driver door unlocks.
    • The interior lights illuminate.
    • Doors Unlock Inoperative with Transmitter - All

Press the door UNLOCK button a second time within 5 seconds of the first press.

    • The passenger door unlocks.
    • The interior lights stay illuminated for one of the following periods of time:
       - For 40 seconds after the first press of the UNLOCK button
       - Until the ignition switch is turned to the ON position
    • Doors Unlock Inoperative with Transmitter - All

  1. Wait for the interior lights to go out.
  2. Press the door LOCK button on the remote control door lock transmitter.
    • The doors lock.
    • The interior lights illuminate for approximately 2 seconds in order to acknowledge the locking of the doors.
