Caution: Refer to Replacement Carpet Caution in the Preface section.

Preliminary Procedure

1. Remove the front seats. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket.
2. Remove the rear seat. Refer to Rear Seat Replacement.
3. Remove the front floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement
4. Remove the amplifier bracket. Refer to Radio Speaker Amplifier Replacement
5. Remove the radio front floor console speaker. Refer to Radio Front Floor Console Speaker Replacement.
6. Roll the instrument panel (I/P) back to remove the amplifier and place I/P back to installed position in order to remove carpet.
7. Remove the left and right body hinge pillar trim panel. Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side and Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side.
8. Remove the left and right center pillar lower garnish moldings. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Garnish Molding Replacement.

Carpet Assembly

Procedure

1. Remove the I/P support brace on the drivers side, as seen in photo.
2. Remove the shift control/amplifier bracket assembly.
3. Remove the two push on carpet retainers.
4. With the aid of an assistant remove the carpet assembly from the vehicle.
