Did you perform the Lighting Systems Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Turn the headlamp switch to the OFF position.
  2. Close all doors.

Are all of the courtesy lamps OFF?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Is the HATCH AJAR indicator on?

Go to Trunk Ajar Indicator Inoperative in Body Rear End

  1. Disconnect the BCM connector.
  2. Probe the interior lamps control circuit of the BCM with a test lamp that is connected to battery positive voltage.

Is the test lamp illuminated?

Go to Step 8

Probe the passenger door ajar switch signal circuit of the BCM with a test lamp that is connected to battery positive voltage.

Is the test lamp illuminated?

Go to Step 9

Probe the driver door ajar switch signal circuit of the BCM with a test lamp that is connected to battery positive voltage.

Is the test lamp illuminated?

Go to Step 10

Test for a short to ground in the courtesy lamps low control circuit. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 15

Test for a short to ground in the interior lamps control circuit. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Test for a short to ground in the passenger door ajar switch signal circuit. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Test for a short to ground in the driver door ajar switch signal circuit. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Important: Perform the set up procedure for the body control module. Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Body Control System.
