  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Verify that one of the windows is inoperative.

Do both of the windows operate properly?

Is the driver window inoperative?

Go to Step 11

Does the passenger window operate from the driver window switch?

Go to Step 19

  1. Disconnect the passenger window switch.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the power window master switch output right front up circuit at the passenger power window switch connector and a good ground.
  3. While observing the test lamp, press the driver window switch to the UP position for the passenger window.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Connect a test lamp between the power window master switch output right front down circuit at the passenger window switch connector and a good ground.
  2. While observing the test lamp, press the driver window switch to the DOWN position for the passenger window.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Test the power window master switch output right front up circuit for an open or a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the power window master switch output right front down circuit for an open or a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Reconnect the passenger window switch.
  2. Disconnect the passenger window motor.
  3. Connect a test lamp between the control circuits of the passenger window motor connector.
  4. While observing the test lamp, press the driver window switch for the passenger window to the UP position and then the DOWN position.

Does the test lamp illuminate for both conditions?

Does the passenger window operate from the driver switch for the passenger window?

  1. Disconnect the window control module.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the power window motor left front up circuit at the window control module connector and a good ground.
  3. While observing the test lamp, press the driver window switch for the driver window to the UP position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Connect a test lamp between the power window master switch left front down circuit at the window control module connector and a good ground.
  2. While observing the test lamp, press the driver window switch for the driver window to the DOWN position .

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Test the power window motor left front up circuit for an open or a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the power window master switch left front down circuit for an open or a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Reconnect the window control module.
  2. Disconnect the driver window motor.
  3. Connect a test lamp between the control circuits of the driver window motor connector.
  4. While observing the test lamp, press the driver window switch for the drivers window to the UP position and then the DOWN position.

Does the test lamp illuminate for both conditions?

Test the power window motor left front up circuit and the power window motor feed left front down circuit for an open or a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  2. Connect a test lamp between the ignition voltage circuit at the driver window switch connector and a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?
