Inspect the rear defogger elements for a break. Refer to Grid Line Repair in Stationary Windows.

Is the repair complete?

Connect a good ground to the base of the rear defogger/antenna module.

Does the reception improve?

Clean and tighten the module's ground screws.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  2. Turn the radio ON.
  3. Measure voltage between the rear defogger/antenna module connector C2, terminal A and ground.

Is battery voltage measured?

Replace the rear defogger/antenna module. Refer to Radio Antenna Module Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

  1. Inspect the circuit for an open or short to ground.
  2. If the circuit is OK, service the radio.
