Hardware related failures (No audio, display problems, inoperative functions)

The display is inoperative. No sound comes from any speaker.

Radio Display Inoperative, No Sound from Speakers

No sound comes from one speaker.

Speakers Inoperative - One

The compact disc player does not operate properly.

Compact Disc Inoperative

The tape player does not operate properly.

Tape Player Inoperative

The radio memory (clockand station presets) is inoperative.

Test CKT 1733 for an open or for high resistance. If OK, service the radio.

The radio display is operative; the speakers are OK.

Test CKT 8 for a short to battery voltage or ground. If OK, service the radio.

The radio controls are inoperative.

Service the radio.

The radio will not shut OFF.

Service the radio.

The radio display does not dim with the IP dimmer switch.

Test CKT 8 for an open or for high resistance. If OK, service the radio.

The radio displays LOC.

Disconnect the radio connector for one minute. If the radio still displays LOC, unlock the radio.

The radio display does not dim, or the radio face and buttons do not illuminate with the park lamp ON.

Test CKT 9 for an open or high resistance. If OK, service the radio.

The radio face and buttons do not dim with the IP dimmer switch. The display dims normally.
