  1. Headlamp switch to the OFF position.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to RUN position.
  1. All of the segments of the VF display turn on for 2-3 seconds, including the boost indicator (if equipped with the VIN 1 supercharged engine.
  2. All of the tell-tales turn on for 2-3 seconds, including the rear door ajar indicators on sedan vehicles.

  1. Turn the headlight switch to the PARK position.
  2. Rotate the IP dimmer switch from the minimum brightness to the maximum brightness.
  1. The intensity of the lamps decreases when the park lamps are turned ON.
  2. The intensity can be decreased to OFF and then, increased to maximum intensity with the park lamps ON.

Test drive the vehicle.

If the vehicle is equipped with a trip calculator, use the reset button in order to observe the values of the following modes while driving:

    • AVE ECON
    • FUEL USED
    • RANGE
    • OIL LIFE
  1. The TRAC switch controls the TRAC OFF or the TCS indicator.
  2. The LOW TRAC indicator turns ON with low traction.
  3. The R/CMPT lid AJAR indicator turns ON if the R/CMPT lid is not fully closed.
  4. The door ajar indicator for the specific door turns ON if the door is not fully closed.
  5. The LOW washer fluid indicator is OFF unless the fluid level is low.
  6. The CHANGE OIL SOON indicator is OFF until the powertrain control module determines that the oil needs to be changed. Follow the operators manual in order to reset the indicator after the oil is changed.
  7. The trip calculator switch changes from the English value to the metric value.
  8. The trip calculator display changes between the following modes:
  9. • FUEL USED
    • AVE ECON
    • OIL LIFE
    • RANGE
  10. The trip calculator reset switch causes the modes to restart the calculations.
  11. The trip calculator and the supercharger BOOST gauge shows the amount of the boost that is generated by the supercharger.

  1. Note the trip calculator mode.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position
  4. Note the trip calculator mode.

The trip calculator retains the mode that existed when the ignition was turned OFF.
