Sunroof Drain Hose Replacement Front

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the parking brake, if replacing the left front hose. Refer to Park Brake Lever Replacement in Brakes.
  2. Remove the acoustical patch.
  3. Remove the windshield side garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement in Interior Trim.
  4. Remove the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.

  5. Object Number: 294354  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the drain hose clamp (1) from the sunroof module.
  7. Insert a deep-well socket into the old drain hose (2) at the sunroof module.
  8. Ensure that the socket fits tightly into the hose.
  9. Push the socket until half of the socket is in the old hose.
  10. Insert the remaining half of the socket into the new drain hose.
  11. Carefully pull the old hose through the A-pillar from the bottom, while feeding the new hose from the top. The socket will keep both pieces of the hose together.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 294354  Size: SH
  1. Correctly route the new drain hose (2) into place.
  2. Important: Before installing the drain hoses, lubricate each end of the hose using a rubber lubricant. Use GM P/N 12345884 in order to ensure the following conditions:

       • Ease of installation
       • A proper seal

  3. Connect the drain hose.
  4. Attach the sunroof drain hose to the sunroof module.
  5. Important: Rotate the clamp 90 degrees in order to ensure clearance when the headliner is installed.

  6. Install the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  7. Install the windshield side garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement in Interior Trim.
  8. Install the acoustical patch.
  9. Install the parking brake. Refer to Park Brake Lever Replacement.

Sunroof Drain Hose Replacement Rear

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
  2. Remove the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement in Seats.
  3. Remove the upper quarter trim panel. Refer to Rear Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement or Rear Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  4. Remove the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.

  5. Object Number: 166673  Size: SH
  6. Unclamp the sunroof drain hose from the sunroof module.

  7. Object Number: 294372  Size: SH
  8. Remove the sunroof drain hose (1) from the C-pillar.
  9. Remove the hose from the sunroof drain tube at the base of the C-pillar.
  10. Remove the sunroof drain hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 166673  Size: SH
  1. Install the sunroof drain hose to the vehicle.
  2. Important
    Lubricate each end of the hose with general purpose lubricant GM P/N 12345579 or equivalent . If a channel is provided in the inner sheet metal for the routing of the drain hose, use tape to secure the hose in this channel.

  3. Install the sunroof drain hose to the drain tube at the base of the C-pillar.

  4. Object Number: 294372  Size: SH
  5. Install the sunroof drain hose to the C-pillar.
  6. Clamp the sunroof drain hose to the sunroof module.
  7. Important: Rotate the clamp (2) 90 degrees in order to ensure clearance when the headliner is installed.

  8. Install the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  9. Install the upper quarter trim panel. Refer to Rear Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement or Rear Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  10. Install the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement in Seats.
  11. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
