Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Seat Belts?

Go to Step 2

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Buckle the drivers seat belt.
  3. Disconnect the body control module (BCM) connector C2.
  4. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Does the seat belt indicator stay ON continuously?

Go to Step 3

Replace the instrument panel cluster (IPC). Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 7

  1. Disconnect the driver seat belt switch connector.
  2. Test the driver seat belt switch signal circuit for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 7

  1. Test the driver seat belt switch ground circuit for an open or a high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.
  2. If the driver seat belt switch ground circuit is OK, replace the driver seat belt switch. Refer to Seat Belt Buckle Replacement - Left Front .

Replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
