J 36660-A Torque Angle Meter
Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the transaxle assembly. Refer to the following:
- If equipped with a manual transmission, remove the clutch and pressure
plate. Refer to
Clutch Assembly Replacement
in Clutch.
- Remove the 8 flywheel retaining bolts.
- Remove the flywheel from the crankshaft.
- Clean any grease or dirt from the crankshaft flange outer surface using
a suitable solvent.
Installation Procedure
- Install the flywheel to the crankshaft.
Notice: Refer to Excessive Adhesive on Flywheel Bolts Notice in the Preface section.
- Apply GM P/N 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) or the equivalent,
to the flywheel retaining bolt threads (1).
- For vehicles equipped with an Automatic Transmission, install the flywheel
retaining bolts (1-8) to the crankshaft.
Tighten
Tighten the 8 flywheel retaining bolts in sequence for Automatic Transmission
to 83 N·m (61 lb ft).
- For
vehicles equipped with a Manual Transmission, install the flywheel retaining bolts
to the crankshaft.
Tighten
- Tighten the 8 flywheel retaining bolts in sequence for Manual Transmission
to 49 N·m (36 lb ft).
- After the proper torque has been reached, us a J 36660-A
and tighten the flywheel bolts an additional 90 degrees.
- If equipped with a manual transmission, install the clutch and pressure
plate. Refer to
Clutch Assembly Replacement
in
Clutch.
- Install the transaxle assembly. Refer to the following:
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
in Engine Electrical.
Tighten
Tighten the battery cable bolt to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).
