Removal Procedure
- Remove the front carpet retainer. Refer to Front Carpet Retainer Replacement .
- Disconnect the front door wiring harness from the main body wiring harness at the front door pillar.
- Pull the rubber wiring conduit out of the hinge pillar.
- Pull the wiring harness out through the opening in the front door body pillar.
- Remove the front door check link bolt.
- Remove the front door hinge bolts.
- With an assistant, remove the front door.
Disassembly Procedure
- Remove the outside panel. Refer to Front Side Door Outer Panel Replacement .
- Remove the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
- Remove the door speaker. Refer to Radio Front Side Door Speaker Replacement in Entertainment.
- Remove the outside handle pivot. Refer to Door Outside Handle Pivot Replacement .
- Remove the lock cylinder. Refer to Door Lock Cylinder Replacement .
- Remove the window. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement .
- Remove the window regulator. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement .
- Remove the run channel weatherstrip from the door.
- Remove the door check link. Refer to Front Side Door Check Strap Replacement .
- Remove the door frame applique. Refer to Front Door Frame Applique Replacement or to Rear Door Frame Applique Replacement .
- Remove the outer panel insulator from the door. Refer to Front Side Door Insulator Replacement .
- Remove the lock assembly. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Replacement .
- Remove the rubber conduit from the front door body pillar.
- Remove the door hinges. Refer to Front Side Door Hinge Replacement .
- Remove the window run channel. Refer to Door Window Channel Replacement .
Assembly Procedure
- Install the window run channel. Refer to Door Window Channel Replacement .
- Install the door hinges. Refer to Front Side Door Hinge Replacement .
- Connect the rubber conduit to the front door body pillar.
- Install the lock assembly. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Replacement .
- Install the outer panel insulator to the door. Refer to Front Side Door Insulator Replacement .
- Install the door frame applique. Refer to Front Door Frame Applique Replacement or to Rear Door Frame Applique Replacement .
- Install the door check link. Refer to Front Side Door Check Strap Replacement .
- Install the run channel weatherstrip to the door.
- Install the window regulator. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement .
- Install the window. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement .
- Install the lock cylinder. Refer to Door Lock Cylinder Replacement .
- Install the outside handle pivot. Refer to Door Outside Handle Pivot Replacement .
- Install the door speaker. Refer to Radio Front Side Door Speaker Replacement in Entertainment.
- Install the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
- Install the outside panel. Refer to Front Side Door Outer Panel Replacement .
Installation Procedure
- With an assistant, position the door to the door hinges.
- Install the front door hinge bolts.
- Install the front door check link bolt.
- Route the wiring harness through the opening in the front door body pillar.
- Connect the wiring harness to the main body harness at the front door body pillar.
- Install the front carpet retainer. Refer to Front Carpet Retainer Replacement .
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
