Rear Floor Air Outlet Replacement Sedan/Wagon

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 866252  Size: SH
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
  2. Remove the console. Refer to Console Replacement .
  3. Important: Removing the seat using the following sequence will aid in the reassembly of the unit.

  4. Remove the front bolts from the seat in the following order:
  5. 3.1. Front inboard
    3.2. Front outboard
  6. Move the seat to the full forward position by activating the seat adjuster lever.
  7. Remove the 2 rear bolts from the front seat in the following order:
  8. 5.1. Rear outboard
    5.2. Rear inboard
  9. For the driver's seat, tilt the seat backwards and disconnect the seat side mount buckle unit wiring harness.
  10. Remove the seat and place on a clean, protected work surface. Repeat the procedure for the passenger's seat.

  12. Remove the push nuts from the rear floor heater duct.

  13. Object Number: 873113  Size: SH
  14. Remove the shifter nuts.
  15. Lift the shifter enough to clear the studs on the floor and remove the rear floor heater duct.
  16. Remove the rear floor heater duct from under the carpet.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 859837  Size: SH
  1. Install the rear floor heater duct in position under the carpet.
  2. Install the rear floor heater duct on the rear shifter studs.
  3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 873113  Size: SH
  4. Install the shifter nuts.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the shifter nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  6. Install the push nuts on the rear floor heater duct.

  7. Object Number: 861019  Size: SH

    Important: The pawl must be locked into the third windows on both seat adjuster tracks for proper installation. Handle the seat assembly with extreme care to prevent damage to the seat mounting surface.

  8. Install the seat:
  9. 5.1. Activate the seat adjuster assemblies by releasing the adjuster lever.
    5.2. Position the seat cushion assembly forward to allow the pawls attached to the seat track to lock in the third windows on both of the seat adjuster tracks.
    5.3. Carefully place the seat in the vehicle.
    5.4. Position the seat to the vehicle, tilt the seat backwards and connect the seat mount buckle unit wiring harness.

    5.5. Apply Loctite® 242 Threadlocker P/N 21485277 or equivalent to the 4 seat bolts. Install the following 3 seat bolts in the following order:
             5.5.1.  Rear inboard
             5.5.2.  Rear outboard
             5.5.3. Front outboard

    Tighten
    Tighten the seat bolts to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

    5.6. Move the seat assembly to the full rearward position by activating the seat adjuster lever.
    5.7. Install the front inboard seat bolt (4) .

    Tighten
    Tighten the front inboard seat bolt to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  10. Sit in the seat. Buckle and unbuckle the seat belt to ensure proper operation.
  11. Activate the adjuster lever and move the seat to various positions along the seat tracks to ensure proper operation. The seat should lock at each desired position.
  12. Install the console. Refer to Console Replacement .
  13. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 859839  Size: SH
  1. Using a small flat blade screwdriver, pry the plug from the bottom of the heater duct.
  2. Remove the plug from the heat duct.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 859839  Size: SH
  1. Position the plug to the heater duct.
  2. Push the plug into the opening.
