Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the inside door handle bezel. Refer to Door Inside Handle Bezel Replacement .
  2. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  4. Remove the garnish molding. Refer to Rear Door Opening Frame Garnish Molding Replacement .
  5. Remove the window inner belt sealing strip. Refer to Rear Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement .
  6. Remove the window outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Rear Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement .
  7. Remove the front window run channel. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Front Channel Replacement .
  8. Remove the door window. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Replacement .
  9. Remove the door latch. Refer to Rear Side Door Latch Replacement .
  10. Remove the power window module. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Module Replacement .
  11. Remove the window weatherstrip. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement .
  12. Remove the stationary window. Refer to Rear Side Door Stationary Window Replacement .
  13. Remove the door frame applique. Refer to Rear Door Frame Applique Replacement .
  14. Remove the door bottom auxiliary sealing strip. Refer to Rear Side Door Bottom Auxiliary Sealing Strip Replacement .
  15. Remove the outside door handle. Refer to Rear Side Door Outside Handle Replacement .
  16. Remove the door weatherstrip. Refer to Rear Door Weatherstrip Replacement .
  17. Remove the upper auxiliary weatherstrip. Refer to Rear Side Door Upper Auxiliary Weatherstrip Replacement .

  19. Remove the center pillar garnish molding in order to access the door wire harness connectors. Refer to Center Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement in Interior Trim.
  20. Disconnect the door wire harness from the body wire harness.
  21. Depress the tabs on the door wire harness connector in order to release the connector from the center pillar.
  22. Disconnect the wiring harness retainers from the inner door panel.
  23. Pull the rubber conduit and the wiring harness out through the opening at the front of the door.

  25. Remove the door check link fastener (1) from the pillar.
  26. Support the door.
  27. Remove the hinge to door nuts.
  28. Remove the door, with an assistant.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the hinge studplates into the door.
  2. Align the door to the hinges, with the aid of an assistant.
  3. Support the door.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the door to hinge nuts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the door to hinge nuts to 34 N·m (24 lb ft).

  7. Install the door check link. Refer to Door Check Link Replacement .

  9. Install the door wiring harness into the door.
  10. Install the door wiring harness retainers to the inner door panel.
  11. Connect the door wire harness to the body wire harness.
  12. Install the center pillar garnish molding. Refer to Center Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement in Interior Trim.
  13. Install the upper auxiliary weatherstrip. Refer to Rear Side Door Upper Auxiliary Weatherstrip Replacement .
  14. Install the door weatherstrip. Refer to Rear Door Weatherstrip Replacement .
  15. Install the door bottom auxiliary sealing strip. Refer to Rear Side Door Bottom Auxiliary Sealing Strip Replacement .
  16. Install the door frame applique. Refer to Rear Door Frame Applique Replacement .
  17. Install the stationary window. Refer to Rear Side Door Stationary Window Replacement .
  18. Install the outside door handle. Refer to Rear Side Door Outside Handle Replacement .
  19. Install the window weatherstrip. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement .
  20. Install the power window module. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Module Replacement .
  21. Install the door latch. Refer to Rear Side Door Latch Replacement .
  22. Install the window. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Replacement .
  23. Install the front window run channel. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Front Channel Replacement .
  24. Install the outer belt molding. Refer to Rear Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement .
  25. Install the window inner belt molding. Refer to Rear Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement .
  26. Install the garnish molding. Refer to Rear Door Opening Frame Garnish Molding Replacement .
  27. Check the door window for proper adjustment. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Adjustment .
  28. Check the door for proper adjustment. Refer to Door Adjustment .
  29. Touch up any paint damage to the intermediate rear door hinge and nuts with body color paint.
  30. Check the window and door lock operation.
  31. Install the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  32. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
