  1. Disconnect the LH seat adjuster switch connector.
  2. Connect a test light between the seat adjuster switch connector terminal 20 and ground.

Does the test light illuminate?

--

Repair the open or high resistance in circuit 1740 between the instrument panel electrical center and the LH seat adjuster switch connector.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Step 14

  1. Disconnect the LH seat lumbar pump connector.
  2. Connect a test light between the LH seat lumbar pump connector terminal K and ground.

Does the test light illuminate?

--

Go to Step 6

Repair the open or high resistance in circuit 1140 between the instrument panel electrical center and the LH seat lumbar pump connector.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Step 14

  1. Connect a DMM between the LH seat lumbar pump connector terminal A and ground.
  2. Test circuit 150 for continuity to ground.

Is circuit 150 continuous to ground?

--

Repair the open or high resistance in circuit 150.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Reconnect the LH seat adjuster switch connector.
  2. Using a test light test for voltage at the following lumbar pump connector control circuit terminals while the respective switches are pressed:
  3. • lower lumbar inflate-terminal H
    • upper lumbar inflate-terminal G
    • side bolster inflate-terminal F
    • side bolster deflate-terminal E
    • upper lumbar deflate-terminal D
    • lower lumbar deflate-terminal C

Does the test light illuminate at each of the control circuit terminals while its switch is pressed?

  1. Disconnect the LH seat adjuster switch connector.
  2. Using a DMM test continuity of the inoperative control circuit(s) from the seat switch connector to the lumbar pump connector.

Is continuity present?

Repair the open or high resistance in the inoperative lumbar pump control circuit(s).

Is the repair complete?

Replace the LH seat adjuster switch. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement .

Inspect and repair or replace the lumbar air bladders, air lines or any other components for leaks, restrictions, or damage that may cause the inoperative condition. Refer to Lumbar Bladder Replacement or Front Seat Back Cushion Side Bolster Bladder Replacement .

Is the fuse open?

Inspect the connectors C2 and C3 at the instrument panel electrical center for looseness, corrosion, or damage.

Are these connectors in good operating condition?

Replace the LUMBAR MiniFuse® #3.

Does the LUMBAR MiniFuse® #3 immediately open when installed?

Repair the instrument panel electrical center connectors C2 and C3 as necessary.

Inspect and repair the short to ground in circuit 1140.

  1. Disconnect the RH seat lumbar pump connector.
  2. Press each of the Passenger seat lumbar switch buttons one at a time.

When any of the passenger seat lumbar switch buttons are pressed, does the LUMBAR MiniFuse® #3 open?

Repair the short to ground in the lumbar control circuit which caused the fuse to open.

  1. Reconnect the RH seat lumbar pump connector.
  2. Press all of the RH lumbar buttons on the RH seat adjuster switch one at a time.

When any of the passenger seat lumbar switch buttons are pressed, does the LUMBAR MiniFuse® #3 open?
