Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 428645 Size: SH
  1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the door module. Refer to Front Door Module Replacement .
  3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  4. Remove the inner and outer belt moldings. Refer to Molding Replacement - Window Belt .
  5. Remove the outside rearview mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement .
  6. Remove the window. Refer to Door Window Replacement .
  7. Remove the fasteners from the front window channel (2).
  8. Carefully pull the window weatherstrip (1) and channel (2) from the door.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 489783 Size: SH

    Important: When reusing the window weatherstrip, the flange mounting area (1) must be pinched together to counteract the splaying effect when removed. Use the thumb and index finger to pinch the carrier (2) back together.

  1. Work from one end of the weatherstrip to the other.

  2. Install the window weatherstrip (1) to the door starting in the top corner working outward in both directions.
  3. Firmly seat the window weatherstrip to the door.

    4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the window channel fasteners.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the window channel fasteners to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Install the door window. Refer to Door Window Replacement .
  6. Install the outside rearview mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement .
  7. Install the inner and outer belt moldings. Refer to Molding Replacement - Window Belt .
  8. Install the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  9. Install the door module. Refer to Front Door Module Replacement .
  10. Install the trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
