Removal Procedure

    Caution: When working with any type of glass or sheet metal with exposed or rough edges, wear approved safety glasses and gloves in order to reduce the chance of personal injury.

    Caution: Disconnect the power window switch when working inside the driver door. When operated, the Express Up/Down Feature allows the door window to move very quickly, without stopping, which could cause personal injury.

  1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement or Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement or Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  3. Remove the inner and outer belt moldings. Refer to Molding Replacement - Window Belt .
  4. Remove the speaker assembly. Refer to Speaker Replacement in Entertainment.
  5. Raise or lower the window regulator in order to access the 2 window clamps through the access hole.
  6. Loosen the front guide channel bolts. Remove the guide, if needed.

  8. Depress the tabs on the window clamps (2) in order to release the window from the regulator.
  9. Remove the window (1) by tilting forward and pulling the window up and out of the door.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Disconnect the power window switch when working inside the driver door. When operated, the Express Up/Down Feature allows the door window to move very quickly, without stopping, which could cause personal injury.

  1. Install the plastic clamps (2) to the glass.
  2. Important: The window regulator should be at least half way down before installing the window. Tilt the front edge of the window downward.

  3. Install the window clamps (2) into the window regulator channel.
  4. Align the rear of the window into the channel.
  5. Rotate the window rearward back to the level position.
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Tighten the front guide channel bolts, if loosened.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the front guide channel bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  9. Raise the rear window to the full closed position.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the window clamp fasteners to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

  11. Install the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement or Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  12. Install the speaker assembly. Refer to Speaker Replacement in Entertainment.
  13. Install the inner and outer belt moldings. Refer to Molding Replacement - Window Belt .
  14. Install the trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement or to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
