Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the door lock rod knob. Refer to Door Lock Rod Knob Replacement .
  3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  4. Remove the outside rearview mirror. Refer to Manual Mirror Replacement or Power Mirror Replacement .
  5. Remove the outer sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement .
  6. Remove the door weatherstrip. Refer to Front Side Door Weatherstrip Replacement .
  7. Remove the door window weatherstrip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement .
  8. Remove the rear guide channel. Refer to Window Guide Channel Replacement - Front Door .
  9. Remove the door lock. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Replacement .
  10. Remove the door lock cylinder. Refer to Door Lock Cylinder Replacement .
  11. Remove the outside door handle. Refer to Front Side Door Outside Handle Replacement .
  12. Remove the door window. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement .
  13. Remove the door window regulator and motor. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement .
  14. Remove the exterior door molding. Refer to Exterior Trim Molding/Nameplate Replacement in Exterior Trim.
  15. Remove the fender. Refer to Front Fender Replacement in Body Front End.

  16. Remove the door check link. Refer to Front Side Door Check Link Replacement .
  17. Remove the following components from the door:
    18. • The plastic retainer
    • The locking rod ferrule
  18. Remove the body hinge pillar trim panel (2). Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  19. Disconnect the 3 door wiring harness electrical connectors from behind the body hinge pillar trim panel (2).

  20. Release the door wiring harness grommet and unroute the wiring harness (3) from the door (6) and door jamb, if equipped.
  21. Remove the front door wiring harness from the vehicle, if equipped.
  22. Remove all the retainers from the front door (6).
  23. Mark the door hinge (2, 4) location.
  24. Remove the following components from the vehicle:
    25. • The 4 door to hinge bolts (1, 5)
    • The front door (6)

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 626953 Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the front door (6) to the vehicle. Align the matchmarks on the hinges (2, 4) in order to aid in the correct adjustment of the door. Secure the door to the hinges (2, 4) with the 4 bolts (1, 5).

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the door to hinge bolts to 25 N·m (19 lb ft).

  2. Install all the plastic retainers to the door (6).
  3. Route the door wiring harness (3) and seat the grommet into position in the door (6).
  4. Connect the 3 door wiring harness electrical connectors.
  5. Install the body hinge pillar trim panel. Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  6. Install the locking rod ferrule to the door.
  7. Install the door check link. Refer to Front Side Door Check Link Replacement .
  8. Install the fender. Refer to Front Fender Replacement in Body Front End.
  9. Install the exterior door molding. Refer to Exterior Trim Molding/Nameplate Replacement in Exterior Trim.
  10. Install the door window regulator and motor. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement .
  11. Install the door window. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement .
  12. Install the outside door handle. Refer to Front Side Door Outside Handle Replacement .
  13. Install the door lock cylinder. Refer to Door Lock Cylinder Replacement .
  14. Install the door lock. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Replacement .
  15. Install the rear guide channel. Refer to Window Guide Channel Replacement - Front Door .
  16. Install the door window weatherstrip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement .
  17. Install the door weatherstrip. Refer to Front Side Door Weatherstrip Replacement .
  18. Install the outer sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement .
  19. Install the outside rearview mirror. Refer to Manual Mirror Replacement or Power Mirror Replacement .
  20. Install the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  21. Install the door lock rod knob. Refer to Door Lock Rod Knob Replacement .
  22. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
