- Set the left hand turn signal to the on position.
- Set the left hand turn signal to the OFF position.
- Set the right hand turn signal to the ON position.
- Set the right hand turn signal to the OFF position.

- The left hand signal and the indicator flash.
- The left hand signal and the indicator turn off.
- The right hand signal and the indicator flash.
- The right hand signal and the indicator turn off.

- Turn the headlamp switch to the HEAD position. Set the headlamp
dimmer switch to the HIGH position.
- Turn the headlamp switch to the OFF position.

- Apply the parking brake.
- Release the parking brake.

| Start
and idle the engine.
|
• | The Air Bag Warning indicator remains off until an accident causes
deployment or until a fault is detected in the SIR system. |
• | The ABS Warning indicator remains off unless a fault is detected
in the ABS system. |
• | The Brake Warning indicator remains off unless one of the following
conditions occurs: |
• | A fault is detected in the base brake system. |
• | The parking brake is engaged. |
• | The brake fluid level is low. |
• | The Charge (volts) Warning indicator remains off with the engine
running unless a charging system fault is detected. |
• | The Coolant Temperature gauge displays the coolant temperature. |
• | The Coolant Temperature (HOT) warning indicator is off, unless
the coolant temperature exceeds approximately 124° C (255° F). |
|
• | The Air Bag Warning indicator is inoperative. The indicator remains
on or flashes after flashing 6 times. Refer to
SIR Diagnostic System Check
in SIR. |
• | The Low Fuel indicator is inoperative, but the fuel gauge is OK.
Replace the instrument cluster. Refer to
Instrument Cluster Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console. |

| Leave
the engine idling.
|
• | The fuel gauge displays the current fuel level. |
• | The Low Fuel indicator turns on when the fuel level is below 1/8 tank. |
• | The Low Coolant Warning indicator is OFF, unless the coolant level
drops below the sensor level. |
• | The Low Oil Level indicator is off, unless the engine oil level
drops below a set level. The level is checked after the PCM initially powers
up. |
• | The Oil Pressure Warning indicator is off, unless a fault is detected. |
• | The Pass Key indicator is off, unless the theft deterrent system
indicates a fault. |
• | The Service Engine Soon indicator is off, until the PCM determines
that a fault has occurred. |

| Fasten
the seat belts.
| The Fasten Seat Belt Warning indicator turns off when you buckle the
seat belt. The indicator stays off until you unbuckle the seat belt.

| Drive or operate the vehicle as required in order to verify
the operation of all the systems.

• | The speedometer displays the current speed. |
• | The tachometer (if equipped) displays the current ending RPMs. |
• | The Shift Selector indicator displays the correct transmission
range. |
• | The Traction Control Switch controls the Low Traction indicator
or the TCS indicator. |
• | The Low Traction indicator turns on during low traction. |

- Open each door.
- Close each door.

- The Door Ajar indicator turns on.
