Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
    • The engine coolant temperature (ECT) gauge indicates the current engine coolant temperature.
    • The fuel gauge indicates the approximate fuel level.
    • The oil pressure indicator lights.

Start the engine.
    • The oil pressure indicator goes out.
    • The tachometer (if equipped) indicate the engine rpm.

Run the engine until attaining the normal operating temperature.

The ECT gauge indicates current ECT.
