Important: The following steps must be completed before using the symptom tables.
- Review the appropriate system description and operation from the following
list in order to familiarize yourself with the system functions:
- If you are diagnosing a seat system with memory (A45) or heated seats,
perform the
Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle
in Vehicle DTC Information, before using the symptom tables in order to verify that
all of the following are true:
• | The control modules can communicate via the serial data link. |
Visual/Physical Inspection
• | Inspect the easily accessible or visible system components for obvious
damage or conditions which could cause the symptom. |
• | Inspect the seat adjuster track for conditions which may cause binding
or objects within the seat adjustment range which may obstruct movement or interfere
with wiring. |
In addition, for the climate control seat (CCS) system, the following conditions
can degrade the performance, or cause premature shut down of the climate control seat
module (CCSM):
• | Dirty heated/cool ventilation module air filter. |
• | Blockage of an exhaust air duct. |
• | Misaligned heated/cool ventilation module. |
• | Incorrect foam installation of the seat cushion or seat back. |
Intermittent
Faulty electrical connections or wiring may be the cause of intermittent conditions.
